Tips and tricks for the soap-maker:

For customers with mature skin, I can't recommend Apricot Oil enough. Radiance and hydration are essential to our skin at this age, which is why I have carefully developed the "Éclat d'Abricot" Kit, specially designed to meet these needs.

This soap is perfect for your morning ritual.

Unsaponifiables:

  • Vitamin E (tocopherols): A natural antioxidant that helps protect skin from free radical damage. It also prolongs oil life by preventing oxidation.
  • Phytosterols: Beneficial compounds with anti-inflammatory properties that help repair and strengthen the skin barrier. They also improve skin elasticity and reduce the signs of aging.
  • Oleic acid: A monounsaturated fatty acid that nourishes the skin and improves its texture, making it softer and more supple.
  • Linoleic acid: A polyunsaturated fatty acid that plays a crucial role in maintaining the skin barrier and regulating skin hydration.
  • Squalene: A natural emollient that mimics the skin's sebum composition, providing excellent hydration and leaving skin soft and moisturized.
  • Carotenoids: They give apricot oil its characteristic color and are known for their antioxidant properties. They can help protect the skin from UV damage and improve its radiance.

Its saponification value:

The saponification value of Apricot Oil is 135, which means that it will take 0.135 g of NAOH soda to saponify 1 g of Apricot Oil. This information will come in very handy when calculating your own homemade recipe. In your calculator, choose "Huile d'Abricot" or "Apricot Kernal Oil".

This oil is sensitive to oxidation, so its content in your recipe should be 4% to 10% maximum.

Tips and tricks:

You can combine Apricot Oil and Sesame Oil for radiant skin.

Additions/ Overfatting:

Apricot powder is an ideal ingredient for your soap. Add it to the trace, and this soap will make a gentle exfoliating soap for your skin and face.

Up to a maximum of 2% of the total weight of the oils (e.g. 300g oils = 6g Apricot powder).

As the quantity of Apricot Oil in your preparation is low, it will not directly influence the trace. Apricot Oil will give your soap a fine, creamy lather.

Mussels:

Be aware that the reaction between soda and oils can generate heat. Use our special molds and monitor the temperature throughout the process to avoid freezing your soaps.

Our molds are flexible, making them easy to remove from the mold once the soap has hardened. What's more, they enable better heat distribution during the saponification process, promoting optimal soap setting.

How to use Solid Shampoo and Conditioner

Our Apricot Oil still hides wonderful goodness for our hair.

While it is known and recognized for its beneficial effects on our skin, it is much less well known for its effects on our hair. Here are a few properties...

  • Moisturizing and Nourishing Thanks to its moisturizing and nourishing properties, Apricot Oil is ideal for treating dry, split and damaged hair. Its light, non-greasy texture also makes it perfect for fine hair.
  • Penetrating: Rich in fatty acids such as oleic and linoleic acid, Apricot Kernel Oil penetrates deep into the scalp and hair cuticle without leaving a greasy residue.
  • Regeneration and strengthening: thanks to oleic acid, apricot oil helps regenerate and strengthen the scalp's hydrolipidic film. The unsaponifiables present in the oil also help strengthen the skin barrier and protect hair.
  • Reconstitution of hair fiber: the fatty acids in apricot oil reinforce the composition of the intercellular cement of the hair cuticle, limiting water loss and ensuring optimal hair hydration.
  • Softening and smoothing: The unsaturated fatty acids present in Apricot Oil improve the cohesion of hair scales, making them smoother, suppler and shinier.
  • Antioxidant: Thanks to its vitamin E content, Apricot Oil acts as a powerful antioxidant, improving blood circulation to the scalp and thus promoting hair growth.
  • For dry, brittle hair For dry, brittle hair, Apricot Oil is a real ally. Enriched with essential fatty acids, it penetrates deep into the hair fiber, repairing and strengthening the lipid cement between the keratin scales for hair that's nourished, shiny and full of vitality.

Composition of Apricot Oil:

  • Linoleic acid (omega-6): 25 to 30%.
  • Oleic acid (omega-9): 60 to 65%.
  • Palmitic acid makes up around 5 to 8%.
  • Vitamin A: A powerful antioxidant that promotes cell renewal and protects against UV rays.
  • Vitamin E: An antioxidant that delays skin aging and improves blood circulation.
  • Carotenoids: Natural pigments that regulate UV absorption and combat cell aging.
  • Phytosterols: With soothing, nourishing and anti-inflammatory properties, they restructure cell membranes.
  • Triglycerides: help soften and smooth the skin while promoting the reconstruction of the cutaneous lipid film.

Apricot oil is extracted from apricot kernels by crushing and cold pressing. This method preserves the oil's nutrients and benefits, making it a valuable ingredient for skin and hair care.

In addition, the remaining kernels are transformed into a precious apricot powder, ideal for enriching soaps, scrubs and peelings, offering a natural exfoliation that reveals soft, luminous skin.

How to store Apricot oil :

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Make sure it's securely closed.
  • It generally keeps for up to 12 months after opening (unstable oil).
