SKU: N/A Category:

Our Deodorized Coconut Butter is 100% natural, unfractionated, unmodified, cold-pressed, chemically untreated and cosmetic-grade.

Benefits and properties:

A natural source of moisture and benefits for skin and hair, coconut butter is mainly composed of saturated fatty acids:

    • Lauric acid
    • Myristic acid
    • Capric acid
    • Palmitic acid.
    • These fatty acids represent around 90% of the composition of coconut butter. Lauric acid, in particular, is present in high concentration, giving coconut butter its unique properties. In addition to saturated fatty acids, coconut butter also contains :
    • Oleic acid (a monounsaturated fatty acid).
    • Linoleic acid (a polyunsaturated fatty acid). In addition to fatty acids, coconut butter also contains bioactive compounds such as tocopherols (vitamin E), vitamin A for its anti-free radical action, and polyphenols for its antioxidant properties.

Recommended for which skin type
:

    • Dry, damaged skin
    • Chapped
    • Dreams.
    • Coconut butter increases skin elasticity. Its creamy, unctuous texture quickly penetrates skin and hair, leaving a sensation of softness with no greasy residue. Used in numerous cosmetic products, coconut butter moisturizes, softens and soothes skin and hair, restoring radiance and suppleness.

Tips and tricks for the soap maker:

Coconut butter is the ideal base for cold saponification due to its rich fatty acid composition.

It produces an abundant, creamy lather, while contributing to the hardness and longevity of soaps. The perfect ally for all soap makers!

Its Saponification value :

The saponification value of coconut butter is 190, which means that 0.190 g of NAOH soda are needed to saponify 1 g of coconut butter.

This information will help you calculate your own recipe.

In your calculator, you should choose " coconut oil at 76°C ".

Tips
:

  1. If you want to make a 100% Coco soap, be sure to set your superfatting to 30% in your calculator (Soapcalc).
  2. This means your soap will contain 30% unsaponified Coconut butter, making it extremely moisturizing and gentle on the skin.
  3. Without this increase, your 100% Coco soap will be very harsh on the skin and cannot be used in the shower.
  4. On the other hand, if you wish to make your own dishwashing soaps, we advise you not to add any extra grease (0%) to avoid a greasy film on your glasses, cups, plates, etc...
  5. As for the bubbles, the whole family will be delighted to see that this 100% Coconut soap produces an extraordinarily abundant lather! It's our favorite soap!

Additions :

I confess that I am a fan of this soap because it is very easy to add :

    • Herbal extracts (link to Add category)
    • Clays that bring you all their benefits and a beautiful natural color
    • Essential oils (Lavender, Ylang-Ylang, etc.)
    • Fragrances that fit perfectly in this 100% Coco soap.

The Trace In general, Coconut Butter does not accelerate the trace when used with other vegetable oils and butters. However, some fragrances containing "vannin (vanilla)" components can "freeze" your dough completely! Make sure you know what you're getting! However, if you add your fragrance at the end of the trace and your dough freezes, don't throw it away! It's still good! Put it in your molds and start the cure as normal (always check the PH before use). If you want to make 100% Coco, be aware that it will take a long time to get the "trace"! A "false trace" may appear! You'll notice that your soap paste is slightly granular and transparent. Don't stop mixing for at least 4 or 5 minutes, until you obtain a smooth, white paste.

Mussels :

Since soap is extremely hard, choose molds with cavities. Your soaps will be easier to unmold, and above all, you'll be able to let your imagination run wild when it comes to shapes and colors!

Use for hair and homemade shampoos:

Because of its moisturizing and nourishing properties, coconut butter is often used in homemade shampoo recipes. It helps to :

  • Condition dry hair
  • Give curly hair elasticity
  • Care for damaged hair, leaving it soft, shiny and easy to style.

For your solid shampoos, we recommend blending coconut butter with Tamanu oil or Ricin oil. In short, coconut butter is a versatile natural ingredient, rich not only in saturated fatty acids such as lauric acid, but also in unsaturated fatty acids and bioactive compounds such as tocopherols and polyphenols.

These elements give coconut butter beneficial properties for skin and hair. It is widely used in the cosmetics industry for cold saponification, and is also popular in homemade shampoos and other cosmetic products to promote healthy, shiny hair.

Extraction process:

Coconut butter is obtained by cold-pressing coconut flesh. On the other hand, refined coconut oil, also known as copra oil, is obtained by hot pressing (drying process), which makes it refined.
