Imagine concocting your own homemade soap, with this magic oil as your secret ingredient. Not only is it light and non-greasy, so there's no "greasy" feeling on your skin, but it also helps regulate stubborn pimples like a skin superhero!

It's like having your own beauty lab in your kitchen. You can add a few drops of grapeseed oil to your soap mixture and watch the magic happen. Bye bye, dry, irritated skin! Hello, soft, radiant skin!

Unsaponifiables:

  • Vitamin E (tocopherols): A powerful antioxidant, vitamin E helps protect the skin against free radical damage and contributes to the preservation and stability of soaps.
  • Polyphenols: Include compounds such as oligomeric procyanidins (OPCs), which are among the most powerful antioxidants, surpassing even vitamin C and vitamin E in terms of antioxidant capacity. They have anti-inflammatory properties and can help improve skin elasticity.
  • Phytosterols: such as beta-sitosterol and stigmasterol, which have beneficial effects on skin repair and hydration, reducing inflammation and helping to protect the skin barrier.
  • Squalene: A natural emollient that helps soften skin and improve texture without leaving an oily residue. It also helps restore the skin's lipidic film.

Its saponification value:

The saponification value of Grape Seed Oil is 133, which means that 0.133 g of NAOH soda are needed to saponify 1 g of Grape Seed Oil. This information will help you calculate your own recipe.

In your calculator, choose " Grapeseed Oil " or "Huile de Pépin de raisin".

This oil is sensitive to oxidation, so its content in your recipe should be between 5% and 15% maximum.

Tips and tricks:

Mix Grape Seed Oil with other skin-friendly oils, such as Olive Oil or Coconut Butter, to obtain a balanced, nourishing soap..

Use 5% to 10% maximum of Grape Seed Oil in your recipe. Too much oil can lead to an over-greasy soap, which may have a gelatinous texture and be more susceptible to rapid oxidation.

If you want to increase the lather of your soap, you can add ingredients such as sugar or honey to the trace. This will help create a more abundant, luxurious foam (2% or 3% of the total weight of the oils).

Additions/ Superfatting

A little tip for superfatting: add Grape Seed Oil to the soap's fine trace to preserve its moisturizing properties. Grape Seed Oil tends to give a medium trace, which means your soap paste will have acquired a trace fairly quickly. Be careful not to over-mix your soap paste once it has reached the trace, to avoid an excessively thick or grainy soap.

Add natural antioxidants, such as vitamin E, to your recipe to help prevent oxidation of the grapeseed oil and extend the life of your soap.

Mussels:

Be aware that the reaction between soda and oils can generate heat. Use our special molds and monitor the temperature throughout the process to avoid freezing your soaps.

Our molds are flexible, making them easy to remove from the mold once the soap has hardened. What's more, they enable better heat retention during the saponification process, promoting optimal soap setting.
