Unsaponifiables: These compounds, including gamma-oryzanol, vitamin E (tocopherols), phytosterols and ferulic acid, are renowned for their protective, anti-aging action on the skin.
The saponification value of rice bran oil is 133, which means that 0.133 g of NAOH soda (Link to soda lye or soda pearl) are needed to saponify 1 g of rice bran oil. This information will help you calculate your own recipe.
In your calculator, choose "Huile de Son de Riz" or "Rice Bran Oil".
This oil is sensitive to oxidation, and its content in your recipe should be between 5% and 20% maximum.
Tips :
- Percentage of use:
- Use Rice Bran oil at 5% to 20% of the total oils in your recipe to benefit from its moisturizing properties without compromising the soap's hardness.
- Saponification temperature:
- To optimize saponification, keep the temperature of the oils and the soda solution between 43°C and 48°C. This helps to preserve the natural qualities of rice bran oil and ensures an even trace.
- Reaching the track:
- Rice bran oil may accelerate the trace slightly. Be ready to work a little faster once it's added to the mix.
- Soap color:

- Final soap properties:
